Atlantic Union Bankshares Corporation appoints Heather Cox

RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 22, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Atlantic Union Bankshares Corporation announced today that Heather Cox has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

“Heather’s extensive experience in technology and banking will be a valuable addition to our board,” said Ronald L. Tillett, chairman of the company’s board. “Her deep industry knowledge will complement the experience of our Board members as we continue to transform Atlantic Union Bankshares into the premier Mid-Atlantic regional bank and we are delighted to have her join our crew.

Cox, 51, was until recently Chief Digital Health and Analytics Officer at Humana. Prior to her role at Humana, she was Director of Technology and Digital at USAA. Prior to USAA, she was CEO of Citi FinTech and Director of Customer Experience, Digital and Marketing for Citi Global Consumer Bank. Prior to Citi, she was Executive Vice President of Card Operations, Head of Digital Strategy and Customer Experience for Capital One, and Senior Vice President of North American Operations for E*TRADE Financial.

Cox was named the #3 Woman to Watch in Banking in 2017 by American Banker and was also named to their list of Women to Watch in 2011, 2013 and 2016. American Banker also named her Digital Banker of the Year in 2015. In 2015, Bank Innovation named her one of the 10 most innovative CEOs in banking. Cox is a board member of NRG Energy and also served on the board of LIFT, whose nonprofit mission is to lift people out of poverty for good.

Cox earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbanna-Champaign.
