Local golf organizations team up on Saturday for a Patriot’s Day Golf Scramble.
Their event kicked off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Lafayette Muni Golf Course, and an awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m., according to their press release.
A minute of silence was observed for the victims of September 11 and for those who served and still serve.
The purpose of the fundraising event is to launch the new “First Tee” junior golf development program.
First Tee is an international youth development organization that introduces golf and its inherent values to children and adolescents, they say.
The program is organized to help shape the lives of young people by reinforcing values such as integrity, respect and perseverance through golf.
The event was presented by Generations Sports Mgt. LLC and Fairways Consulting.
