HeartShine founders Ciara Barnes and her mother Danna Mack-Barnes, affectionately known as “DannaMomma” by many, along with dozens of active HeartShine title holders and their families, lost their homes and hometowns in the Camp disaster. Fire in 2018. As a result, HeartShine as a community service organization did not disappear, but actually doubled in size.

Rebuilding and recovering from the devastating losses of the 2018 Camp Fire and providing opportunities for those affected by the disaster has been a number one priority for the organization ever since.
